2CW Presents: Show #50! This show is so HUGE, it's simply named #50. This Saturday night, July 10th in Syracuse, NY, Squared Circle Wrestling presents its 50th show since it's debut back in April of 2006. Just this past April, 2CW celebrates its 5th Living on the Edge weekend. Now, we reach another big event in the ever growing exisistance of 2CW. Now we put on show #50. Now we get more hardcore than before, now we showcase what true independent wrestling is all about. Now we show the world why 2CW will be around for 50 more shows. This Saturday night will showcase why 2CW is the best there is around. Hey, we even have a tag team named The Best Around, and we'll show you why that is. Do you remember your first 2CW show? Do you remember back at Living on the Edge, where ZS3 went to battle with Spike Dudley in the first ever Main Event of Squared Circle Wrestling? How about Shakedown '06 when the tables didn't break for the very first time? Or maybe at the only Oncenter show we've done where we had a tables match, flag match and some New Age Outlaws? Were you there the night we had our own Iron Man Match? Or how about a fans at ringside strap match? Remember Slyck vs Scorpio? How about NWA Championship Weekend with Abyss and Spike Dudley? TNA loves 2CW, as we even had a TNA X Division title match with Chris Sabin and Isys Ephex! Some great fueds from the early starts of 2CW included Spike vs Jason Axe, ZS3 vs Gordy and All Money is Legal vs The Killer Steves! If you're a fan of 2CW, you certainly know about TABLES..just ask Steve Kruz. The year-long (well 10 months, minus the two months we had no champion!) reign of our first (and second) 2CW champion, Dizzie! How about those awesome Ladder Matches? Let's not forget “Pooh on a Pole”! How about the best women's action this side of Shimmer: Nikki Roxx, Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze, and of course, Portia Perez. Were you there during the NWA Upstate WAR? Did you travel to Rochester to watch the War Games contest? Or the night we had to close down for 90 days?!? Speaking of Rochester, what about the wild dive from Loca Vida off the balancy!? Our first cage match for the 2CW title was a night to remember, so was the night “Main Event” Jason Axe won the title. He's still running on the title win, he hasn't lost the championship that he won over a year ago. The Killer Steves hasn't had such luck, as Steve Kruz has left 2CW forever. Do you remember the awesome weekend where we crowned 2CW Tag Team Champions? How about the amazing set of tag team title matches we've had since? How about Isys vs Portia? Student vs Teacher...ZS3 vs J Freddie. Axis of Evil, Jimmy Fondation, NWA Upstate and the 2CW leaders. So many great matches, fueds and moments in 2CW's history. We've had so many of the sports legends grace the 2CW ring, such as “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Jerry “The King” Lawler. What do we have store next? Well how about the brand new TV (internet) show, SuperSonic? What's my point of this? Do you remember all those good times? Do you remember what it felt to be there for those and so many other great moments in 2CW's short history? I know you do, and you won't want to miss out what is in store for you this Saturday evening at the Pastime Athletic Club. Show #50, and we've brought you a hell of a wrestling card. So let's get right to that now. Three-Way Dance Mike Van Slyke vs Kevin Graham vs “Studly” Steve McKenzie Two of the students from the institute of professional wrestling, Van Slyke and Graham will face off against each other, however, there is a third man in the match, and his name is Steve McKenzie. One half of the famous Killer Steves stated recently that he will start from the bottom and work his way up the card as a single's wrestler. This is certainly his chance to do that. Show #50. However, it is also the chance of the other two young up and coming wrestlers in 2CW. Mike and Kevin have a lot to prove in 2CW, and this is their chance to do so. The question is, who will make their point known? 2CWATHON Rematch Colin Delaney vs Loca Vida Former WWE superstar, Colin Delaney was very upset over his loss on Father's Day to the luchador. He insists he can defeat Loca and move on to bigger and better things. However, many wrestlers have thought this over the last couple of years, and have walked away with more defeats. Just ask Antonio Thomas. Loca might be a fun-loving high-flying luchador, but he isn't to be taken lightly. He certainly is a force to be recken with inside that ring. Colin had better train real hard, study a lot of video tape, and be very prepared for this rematch, or the result, I suspect, will be the same. Submission Match ZS3 vs Slyck Wagner Brown This feud started back at the Grand Prix when Slyck decided to use ZS3's students as a message to the 2CW management. They had a match on Father's Day in Watertown, but with some questionable counting by the referee, nothing was decided. Maybe this submission match will decide who is the better man. Remember these two are very familiar with each other, with both men training under Killer Kowalski and working in the same areas for many years. With Slyck's new attitude and ZS3's anger towards SWB, this could certainly be a physical and brutal contest to watch. Woman's Match Nikki Roxx vs Portia Perez In this contest, we have the return to 2CW of Nikki Roxx. She has been listening to Portia talk about defeating everyone thrown in her way, and wants to remind Portia that Nikki isn't a push-over. These two have had many matches against each other here in 2CW, and still nothing has been proven to each other. I don't believe this will be the last of these two fighting each other, this will just be another spark lighting this fire. Porta is just coming off a loss against Amazing Kong in Watertown, and she has a reputation to uphold, she isn't happy about the return of Nikki, and Portia is looking to take her our once and for all. Maybe #50 is the place to do it, but we'll see. #1 Contenders Match 2CW Grand Prix Champion, Isys Ephex vs “Big Rig” Brodie Lee Isys was originally booked to wrestle in the rubber match against “Hurricane” John Walters, but I understand that “Hurricane” John Walters is nursing a knee injury and the New York State Athletic Commission's doctor will not let him compete in the contest. In its place, a number one contenders match. Isys certainly deserves this spot, winning the big tournament back in May. Brodie lost in Watertown, but because of outside interference and a couple of low blows, he deserves another shot as well. Matthew Scott decided to bring these two together to decide the next challanger to the 2CW championship. Both men are huge favorites of the loyal 2CW faithful, so I think the fans will be split down the middle on who they want to see win.One thing is for sure, this will be an awesome match to showcase another point on why 2CW is the best wrestling in the country. Special Attraction 2CW Tag Team Champion, Davey Richards vs J Freddie With Eddie Edwards over in Japan during #50, 2CW management didn't know what to do with Davey Richards. Who could we possibly put in the ring with him? So many choices, how to decide? Well, it was an easy answer. J Freddie. Why? Because the kid wouldn't leave 2CW management alone! He called the offices, he called the promotors, he called Loca Vida, and ZS3, he even called me! Ok, maybe he didn't go that far, but he did have lengthy conversations with 2CW officials and management to get this match booked. He wanted to wrestle a man he looks up to, arguably the best independent wrestler on the scene right now. So, with no 2CW tag team title match to plan, it was made...Davey Richards vs J Freddie. As you've seen on SuperSonic, and I believe you will see again this week, not many people think Freddie will even be alive after this match. He is the underdog for sure going into this match. He knows that, he wants that. Davey Richards never takes his opponents lightly, and this will be physical. J Freddie wants to prove to himself he can hang with the American Wolf. He's already defeated the other 2CW Tag Team Champion back in Oswego. J Freddie is ready, but the problem is...so is Davey Richards. Special Attraction Three Way Dance Spike Dudley vs SABU vs Necro Butcher Originally announced as a singles match with Spike vs Sabu, but what the hell, lets bring in more insanity...lets bring in Necro Butcher for the fun of it. Jack Trades thought he was in for it with just Sabu vs Spike, he's probably already booked the ambulance ride for Saturday evening. What can I really type in this hype to make you understand the wild, crazy, insanity that could be displayed this Saturday night? If you've seen the movie The Wrestler, you know what Necro is all about. If you've been to any other 2CW show with Spike on it, you know he's crazier than a pet racoon (Thanks JR!) and Sabu's body is proof of what he'll do to win any match. You just have to be in attendance live to see what can, and probably will, happen. Main Event – 2CW Heavyweight Championship Match Challenger, Jimmy “Jam” Olsen vs Champion, “Main Event” Jason Axe With Jimmy's win in Watertown over J Freddie, he has earned the opportunity to face the 2CW Champion, Jason Axe. Jimmy even took the first shot in the battle, as he superkicked the champ after his title defense against Brodie Lee on Father's Day. If you remember, these two have unsettled issues involving the 2CW championship. It was back in June, at the tag team title tournament weekend, that Jason Axe pinned Jimmy Olsen for the title. It was a very controversial contest. It was a six-man tag team match, that Jimmy pulled out of. However, he was told that if he didn't compete, he would be stripped, and the winner would be awarded the championship. The match ended up going on without Jimmy Olsen starting, however, he entered (as a 7th participant) and was pinned by “Main Event” and lost the championship. Jimmy Olsen never did get a one on one rematch, that is...until this Saturday night. This weekend, Jimmy Olsen gets his chance to defeat the man that took the championship away from him over a year ago. But it won't be easy. “Main Event” Jason Axe has defeated all comers since last June. Axe keeps winning, and it'll be very difficult to defeat him for the championship. “Main Event” has it all right now, 2CW title, seemingly awesome relationship with Portia Perez, huge roll coming into one of the biggest shows in 2CW's history. If he can defeat Jimmy, will that quiet all the critics? - - - - - Remember to check out www.2CW.com for tickets and upcoming show information SuperSonic TV on 2CW.com! I'm not quite sure what a Yagerbomb is, but I do know what a Jagerbomb is. That would be my specialty drink. |
