Myself and a friend of mine were talking the other day about the lengths of shows. I don't mind them being three hours long, but once you start pushing four hours then it gets ridiculous. Having a show end at 12 even on a weekend for a independent show seems to be a bit much. We went to the Watertown show and it was suppose to start at 8, at least that is what it was advertised on the website. However, when we get there at 7:45 or so, it didn't start until 830. Mainly because of Lawler signing stuff. Why couldn't the doors have been opened earlier? Why couldn't Lawler just done that during intermission? At least produce some wrestling, and then have a wait of 20mins to get food or whatever. Or, if you are going to have shows go that long, why not start at 7? Even if you are a half hour late starting it would only be 7:30 as compared to 830. I know at the Syracuse show that SEVERAL people left after Raven's match because of the time (it was 1130 with one match left, i believe). Your thoughts on the length of shows? Not trying to start a war here, just simple suggestions. Also, with May 1st two weeks away and only three matches announced, is it just me or is 2CW taking a long time giving the fans a reason to go to the show? I always find that the earlier you announce the matches, the more time fans will have a chance to get into the show or buy tickets. Edited by Boba Shango, Apr 18 2010, 08:56 PM.

The earlier the better. I would rather have the show end a little earlier than expected than a little over than expected. I really hope 2cw shows the Binghamton card too. If some people aren't sure if they want to come and have another option, which are they more likely to choose the one they know about or the one they don't know about. |

the timing issues for Living on the Edge were a little out of the ordinary for 2CW, as it usually happens in indy wrestling 2CW usually starts a few minutes late, but the problem in Watertown I feel was mostly that Lawler was signing stuff for a long time. It really wasnt that big of a deal. The time issue in Syracuse had a little something to do with talent being at another show and needing to travel to the show. This was the reason for the later than usual start time. I do agree that the Syracuse show did go a little late, but it was the second night in the main weekend of the year for 2CW and i didnt have a problem with it. Usually there are time issues, but there was with these shows. I have been to a couple of non-2CW shows that started as much as an hour late. So these are legit concerns, but i think that 2CW will look at and try to fix in the future. |

Q:Myself and a friend of mine were talking the other day about the lengths of shows. I don't mind them being three hours long, but once you start pushing four hours then it gets ridiculous. Having a show end at 12 even on a weekend for a independent show seems to be a bit much. A: If both shows started at their announced start time both shows would have been 3 hrs 30 mins. 8-1130 in Watertown, and 8:30-12 in Syracuse. Both less than four hours. Watertown was really 8:30-11:30 p.m. and Syracuse 8:30-12 a.m Q: We went to the Watertown show and it was suppose to start at 8, at least that is what it was advertised on the website. A: The Lawler line was long, the cause for delay. Doors did open earlier, but the line was still that long. If Lawler did that stuff at intermission, the show would have still been the same length, because the same amount of people would want to meet him. Q: Or, if you are going to have shows go that long, why not start at 7? Even if you are a half hour late starting it would only be 7:30 as compared to 830. I know at the Syracuse show that SEVERAL people left after Raven's match because of the time (it was 1130 with one match left, i believe). A: Fridays at 8 p.m. are fine. Gives people more time to get to the show from work. Syracuse started at 8:30 p.m. because of the Upstate show. 2CW wanted to make sure Upstate guys made it for the show. Normally, this show would have started at 7 p.m. Q: Also, with May 1st two weeks away and only three matches announced, is it just me or is 2CW taking a long time giving the fans a reason to go to the show? I always find that the earlier you announce the matches, the more time fans will have a chance to get into the show or buy tickets. A:Usually 2CW announces matches for their next show right after the last one. This is a different show with the tournament, and most fans won't know most of the guys at this show. So they have announced the two top matches already, that most people will pay to see. |

I think the show length is perfect. Think about it, when Wrestlemania comes around every year it's a much longer show than any other show they put on during the year. So when the Living on the Edge weekend comes, chances are they will be longer than the other shows through out the year. Also, for Wrestlemania, your paying almost $60 to order it on tv, and to sit on your couch. For 2CW, your paying $10, are close the action no matter where you sit, and almost guaranteed that the action will actually spill into the crowd. Not to be mean, but I just don't know how you can complain about start times and lengths of shows when the tickets are dirt cheap and throughout the entire show you are entertained with "WRESTLING". I don't know about you but most wrestling fans would enjoy that. |

I think that is completely different. I'm looking at from a casual fan standpoint, i don't mind it personally as i enjoy wrestling as a whole. But, being in a hot gym for more than three hours could get on someone's nerves who doesn't care much about the product and are just there for a given top name that wrestles on a given show. To compare about length, here is something similar. I will use the Mets/Cards baseball game from a couple of days ago where they went 20 innings. Now, they are getting a game for free, since it went over 18 innings, but yet people left. Too much of something can cause people to leave. Esp. since the game started at 4 ET and didn't end until around 12. Would a casual baseball fan stay that long? No. A diehard baseball fan would, but i looking at things from a CASUAL fan point of view and mindset. |

I do understand the casual fan viewpoint and mindset. But everyone should at least try to be respectful to the fact that guys are backstage still waiting for their time to come out and entertain us. Can you imagine how much it would suck, knowing that your in the main event, wrestling for the championship, and then when your music hits and you come busting out through the curtain, look at the crowd and.....half the crowd is gone. We at least owe these guys just a little bit more of our time since they are out there literally and physically busting their asses for Us. |
