Wrestling, Students of the Game and Wars.... Just reflecting on another great show and the "magic" of professional wrestling. How that even sometimes no matter how frustrating it is, it still has it's moments. The ones you dream about, or only experience once in a lifetime. Binghamton was such a case. We had alot of insecurities going in as we do any show, but everything ran so smoothly, it was creepy. My crew was on their game, so were the boys and everyone involved did a stellar job. The show itself was great, and it was certainly NOT just another gig. The "powers that be" loved it, the locker room loved it and most importantly, the fans loved it. Scale of one to ten, we hit an eleven. Now I read the emails, the aftermath, if you will. (Sorry, watching Dusty on Youtube.) The feedback is nothing but over the top, and it just keeps coming. I have never felt more confident and proud of the company I work for, 2CW. We have shown we are the best time and time again, but Feb 19th, we stepped it up one more time and breathed new life into Binghamton and the NY wrestling scene. We did something we didn't think we could possibly do, and that was outdo *ourselves*. We have set the bar a foot higher once again. To answer everyone's emails and questions about other promotions? There is NO war. We have shown it with our actions, not words, that we are the very best. That our roster is full of the who's who of independent wrestling. That we not only sell out venues, we give the audience a show they never forget. There is NO war because there is no competition. You would have to be on equal playing ground, and there is just no one close to our level. So right now, I dismiss ANY rumors of competition with ANY other promotion in NYS. Stop using our company to get yourselves over and just go and continue to hold your "friends and family" shows. Don't flatter yourself with putting yourself in the same category as us, it's like comparing apples to bowling balls. Inside of all this lies a great story I also want to share. Mind you, I've been around, and been a wrestling fan for over 30+ years. So it's hard to impress or get me wrapped up into a storyline or match any more, but it happens often in 2CW. I'm referring to the students match. The unsung hometown hero Mikey Metexas lights up the house as three young men get to live out their dreams in their very first match. Now WHO can't get behind that? Not a four star match by far, it was incredible to see the support and pop these guys got. Their courage and determination to follow a dream was lived that night, and I know how they feel to live out "the dream". (Not Dusty, lol.) I realized WHY it was good entertainment and why people loved it, it was real. You can invest yourself in the people, because it's REALLY their first match, they have followed their dreams to do so, and here they were, in front of a packed house, getting to do it, for real. When Mikey's hand was raised, it was a victory for him, Binghamton, and all the underdogs out there. That's just great stuff.... So in closing, (THANK GOD, right?) I want to say, THANK you 2CW fans for always being there, always supporting us and giving us the chance to bring you, what we feel, is what you want, professional wrestling you can invest in and get behind. That we rest on our own reputation of being the best at what we do. From the 2CW management, to the boys in the locker room, thank you for making it easy and we love performing in front of you. 2CW fans are the greatest wrestling fans alive, and we appreciate everything you do for us. See you at LOTE weekend....get ready...we're about to do it again.... -Jack Trades www.2cw.com |
